The EAST (Environmental Advisory for Sustainable Trust) was founded by Dr. G. Paramasivan in December 2010. The EAST is an internationally renowned, self - governing institution, multidisciplinary center for advanced research and training in the Social Sciences, widely recognized as a center of excellence in India known for its cutting-edge research in socio-economic development, exhaustive training programmes and public policy concern. It is a registered Trust (Reg. No. 1544/10) under the Indian Trust Act, 1882. The EAST tucked in the Oxford of South India, Palayamkottai City, Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu, India. It is easily accessible by Road and Train and 40 kms for Air from Thoothukudi Airport.
Its aim is to achieve sustainable development in environment by improving the social, economic and physical environment for the benefit of the community. The Organization is governed by a Board of Trustees. There are three trustees, among them one is women. It is also registered under 12 (A) of the Income Tax Act. The Income Tax Department has given permission to EAST to accept donations under 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
