The EAST (Environmental Advisory for Sustainable Trust) was founded by Dr. G. Paramasivan on 29th December 2010. The EAST is an internationally renowned, self - governing institution, multidisciplinary center for advanced research and training in the Social Sciences, widely recognized as a center of excellence in India known for its cutting-edge research in socio-economic development, exhaustive training programmes and public policy concern.
It is a registered Trust (Reg. No. 1544/10) under the Indian Trust Act, 1882 with NGO Unique Registration ID 'TN/2017/0120483'. The EAST is in Palayamkottai, the Oxford of South India. It is easily accessible by Road and Train and 40 kms for Air from Thoothukudi Airport.

Aims & Objectives
The aims of the EAST (Environmental Advisory for Sustainable Trust )are the Restoration and Rehabilitation (R&R) programs to facilitate projects to reduce pollution, or environmental degradation of any kind. Through these projects, we also aim to improve the capacity of communities and organizations to protect, restore and enhance the environment.

Almost every day, we hear problems affecting the environment - problems like pollution (in all fields), acid rain, climatic changes, global warming, depletion of the ozone layer, destruction of rainforests and other wild habitats, decline and extinction of thousands of species of animals and plants and increase in poverty prove...
To publish an international journal aimed at professionals in the field of environment and bring out such other periodic and non-periodic publications that may lead to further development of the Trust
To edit, translate, publish book, pamphlets, periodicals, educative and informative material that may be considered desirable for promotion of the aim of the Trust.
To organize lectures, seminars, conferences, workshops, study groups, debates, symposia and other programmes for various groups of people on relevant social themes such as environmental education..
